Crystal Kelly

Name: Crystal Kelly

Hometown: I was born in New York, but grew up in a small beach town in Florida.

Training: I completed my 200 RYT at Black Dog Yoga and trauma-informed yoga with Uprising Yoga. I also continue to study The Bhagavad Gita, The Yoga Sutras, and I’m a self-proclaimed anatomy nerd.

Specialization: Hatha with an emphasis in alignment and pranayama. Vinyasa flow, sculpt, as well as stretch and mobility.

Astrological Sign: Cancer. Yup, I’m a sensitive, water loving crab.

Playlist Favorites: I’m sure you’ll hear The Beatles and some 90’s jams while you flow and something relaxing while you stretch and rest.

Hobbies/Passions: Yoga on the beach! Crossfit, hiking, rock climbing, sociology, building community, and laughing with my sisters and friends.

What was your path to yoga OR what has yoga brought to your life?

While pursuing a master’s in Sociology, full of idealism, and determined to change the world, I stepped into my first yoga class and started the journey inward coming to realize: "Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world." "Today I am wise so I'm changing myself." After completing my 200-hour teacher training, I’m continuing my study in alignment-based movement and stillness. Now, I’m sharing that journey with others by creating a compassionate learning environment that is physically challenging and thought-provoking to promote inner peace, confidence, and strength. With a fun-loving attitude, high energy, and innovative sequencing, my goal is to have students leave class feeling empowered, rejuvenated, and with a mind-body-breath awareness, as well as feeling connected to a community of yogis.

Favorite pose: Triangle, because I feel grounded and free all at once.

What are 3 adjectives to describe you: Energetic, fun, and thoughtful.

I have always wanted to try yoga but never had the time and also didn't feel confident to walk into a yoga studio. A friend told me about the Yoga NoHo Center and suggested I try their four pack of private lessons. Wow, this changed my life. They not only deepen my physical yoga practice, but I learned how to breath, meditate and now I am going for the complete Super You 30 Day Detox.

I am a mother of two very active young boys and it was time for some me time. My friend recommended the Yoga NoHo Center because they offer both the new hot infrared classes and traditional yoga classes. I was brand new to yoga and they suggested to take at least one private lesson. I actually bought their 4 pack and I am glad I did because Karen actually took extra time with me, even after my four lessons and guided me through the first few months of taking public classes. Now one year later, I can't believe how much my life has changed for the absolute better. Thank you to all the teachers at the Yoga NoHo Center!
