My yoga journey started in a small Bikram studio in my hometown in Sweden; I was in high school, feeling the pressure of academic performance, and repeatedly getting injured while dancing. It was entirely by chance that I walked into the studio on a chilly autumn evening, and initially it was purely for the physical benefits. I was looking for a low-impact workout that could help me lengthen and strengthen and rehabilitate, but slowly I started to feel other benefits as well, mainly that my anxiety got easier to handle.
Now, almost 10 years later, I have found my way back to a consistent practice, and it has done wonders for my health in more ways than I could imagine. As a teacher, I believe that there is a yoga practice for everyone, and it will look very different from person to person, so the important thing is to find what yoga is to YOU. I hope to inspire others to find their own yoga practice, and discover how much light it can let into their lives.
